Description
OPKON incremental encoders works generate a series of electrical pulses in response to the rotation of its shaft. As the shaft rotates, an internal disk with evenly spaced markings passes through an optical sensor, which detects the movement. These markings cause the sensor to emit pulses corresponding to the rotation. The number of pulses generated per revolution indicates the shaft’s speed and relative position. These are typically used in motion control systems to track speed, direction, and distance of rotation.
