Description
The Opkon ERC10 sine/cosine absolute encoder operates on an optical principle. It uses a rotating disk with alternating transparent and opaque sections. As the disk turns, a light source passes through these sections and is detected by a sensor. The sensor generates sine and cosine signals based on the disk’s rotation. These analog signals provide continuous, precise information about the shaft’s absolute position. Optical encoders like the ERC10 offer high accuracy and are ideal for applications requiring fine resolution and reliable performance in position tracking.
